In the paragraph below, the sources
come from two journals. One’s name is Novum Testamentum written by David
Crump. The second journal is Islamic Law and Society written by Muhammid
Qusim Zaman. The two empires, Byzantine and Islamic, both believed in a single
God, that could talk to a believer. One of the many ways that both empires
shared their culture was by the Caliphs, for Islam, and the Disciples, for the
Byzantine Empire. Both groups had a leader, but after they died the Disciples
and Caliphs became the main part in spreading their religion.
There
religions both worships one God, but were very different about spreading their
religion. The Byzantine empires had disciples that Jesus, the leader, picks to
be his many faithful followers. When Jesus died at the cross he gave the power of
the Holy Spirit to his disciples. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God here on
earth with you. Jesus giving his disciples the Holy Spirit it resembles the
Holy Spirits future in the people’s life that the disciples talk to about God. The
way that the disciples spread there religion was by traveling to other
countries and talk about their single God. The disciples went in different
areas of the world to talk about their God. The Islamic empire and the
Byzantine Empire may worship on God but very different about how they spread
the word.
For the Islamic empire, they had
the Caliphs. The Caliphs were not a group, but just a single ruler that was
assigned to spread the word of God. Muhammad, the leader of the Islamic
religion, was the person who God directly came and spoke to. At first, after Muhammad
death, his successors, who were the Caliphs, were the ruler of people and the
head of the religion. How the Caliphs spread their religion was by war and
conquest. Islamic empire was strong and powerful at the time, just like the
Byzantine Empire.
Both
Empires were powerful at that time. There religion was similar in some ways but
completely different in others, like spreading their religion. By Byzantine Empire
and Islamic empire spreading their religion effectively, their religions became
the most popular two in the world.
