Byzantine and Islamic Empire and how they spread the word of their God

In the paragraph below, the sources come from two journals. One’s name is Novum Testamentum written by David Crump. The second journal is Islamic Law and Society written by Muhammid Qusim Zaman. The two empires, Byzantine and Islamic, both believed in a single God, that could talk to a believer. One of the many ways that both empires shared their culture was by the Caliphs, for Islam, and the Disciples, for the Byzantine Empire. Both groups had a leader, but after they died the Disciples and Caliphs became the main part in spreading their religion.

            There religions both worships one God, but were very different about spreading their religion. The Byzantine empires had disciples that Jesus, the leader, picks to be his many faithful followers. When Jesus died at the cross he gave the power of the Holy Spirit to his disciples. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God here on earth with you. Jesus giving his disciples the Holy Spirit it resembles the Holy Spirits future in the people’s life that the disciples talk to about God. The way that the disciples spread there religion was by traveling to other countries and talk about their single God. The disciples went in different areas of the world to talk about their God. The Islamic empire and the Byzantine Empire may worship on God but very different about how they spread the word.

For the Islamic empire, they had the Caliphs. The Caliphs were not a group, but just a single ruler that was assigned to spread the word of God. Muhammad, the leader of the Islamic religion, was the person who God directly came and spoke to. At first, after Muhammad death, his successors, who were the Caliphs, were the ruler of people and the head of the religion. How the Caliphs spread their religion was by war and conquest. Islamic empire was strong and powerful at the time, just like the Byzantine Empire.

            Both Empires were powerful at that time. There religion was similar in some ways but completely different in others, like spreading their religion. By Byzantine Empire and Islamic empire spreading their religion effectively, their religions became the most popular two in the world.

1.     Byzantine Empire
A.     Jesus gave the power of the Holy Spirit to his disciple. By doing this they were in chare of spreading the word of God, when Jesus died.
      
2.     Islamic Empire
A.     Muhammad death that made the caliphs came to power and how they spread the word of their God.
